KMBox Net setup

The KMBox Net takes its orders over the network and types them into the game PC as a real USB mouse. Here is how it is wired, what the three settings mean, and how to tell a wiring problem from a network one.

What you need

  • A KMBox Net box
  • Its USB cable to the game PC, and your real mouse plugged into the box
  • A network path between the box and the second PC

01What it does, and why aim goes through it

The second PC knows where to aim, but it has no way to move the mouse of the game PC - and anything that moved it in software would be a program running on the machine you are keeping clean. The KMBox Net solves that in hardware: your real mouse plugs into the box, the box plugs into the game PC, and the game PC sees one ordinary USB mouse.

Your own movements pass straight through. When the aim needs a correction, the second PC sends it to the box over the network and the box adds it to the stream. From the game PC side there is nothing to find: the input arrives as USB HID reports, exactly like the ones your hand produces.

02Wiring

  • Your mouse -> the box, on its mouse port.
  • The box -> the game PC, on its USB port.
  • The box -> your network, so the second PC can reach it.

The box does not connect to the second PC with a cable: that link is the network, which is the whole point of the Net model. Keep both on the same network; a box on a guest network or behind an access point that isolates clients is reachable by nothing.

03The three settings

In the product menu on the second PC, open Settings > Device, pick KMBox Net as the device type, and fill three fields:

  • IP - the address of the box. Out of the box it is 192.168.2.188, which is also what the field is pre-filled with. If you changed it, or your network hands out a different one, use the address the box shows.
  • Port - 8965 by default, pre-filled too. Only change it if you changed it on the box.
  • UUID - the eight hexadecimal characters printed on the box screen. It is not optional: the box ignores packets that do not carry it.

Then press Connect. The status line says what happened: a connected box reports its address, a refused one says so instead of failing silently.

04Checking the link

The traffic is UDP to the address and port you entered, and every request is either answered or times out - a box that is off does not leave the loader hanging.

If Connect fails, work through it in this order: ping the IP from the second PC; check the UUID character for character; confirm the port; then check that nothing between the two (a VPN on the second PC, a firewall rule, an access point with client isolation) is dropping UDP.

If Connect succeeds but nothing moves in game, the network half is fine and the problem is on the USB half: the box must be the mouse the game PC is actually using, with your mouse plugged into the box and not directly into the PC.

05In game

With the box connected, the aim features of the product have an output. Raw input in the game can stay on - the box is a mouse, not a software hook, so there is no setting in the game to change.

Auto-connect in the Device settings reconnects the box when the loader starts, so this is a one-time setup.

06Step by step

  1. 01Plug your mouse into the boxYour real mouse goes into the mouse port of the KMBox Net.
  2. 02Plug the box into the game PCThe box USB cable goes to the game PC, which now sees one ordinary mouse.
  3. 03Put the box on your networkConnect it to the same network as the second PC, with no client isolation between them.
  4. 04Fill IP, port and UUIDIn Settings > Device on the second PC, pick KMBox Net and enter the address (192.168.2.188 by default), the port (8965) and the eight-character UUID shown on the box.
  5. 05Press ConnectThe status line reports the connected box. Turn on auto-connect so it happens by itself next time.

07Questions

What is the default IP of a KMBox Net?
192.168.2.188, with port 8965. Both are pre-filled in the Device settings, so you only change them if you changed them on the box.
Where do I find the UUID?
It is the eight hexadecimal characters shown on the box screen. The box ignores any packet that does not carry it, so a wrong UUID looks exactly like a box that is not responding.
Does the KMBox Net connect to the second PC with a cable?
No. Its link to the second PC is the network; the only cables are your mouse into the box and the box into the game PC.
Connect works but the aim does nothing in game.
The network half is fine, so look at the USB half: the game PC must be using the box as its mouse, which means your mouse is plugged into the box and not straight into the PC.
Do I need to change anything in the game settings?
No. The game sees a normal USB mouse, so raw input and your usual sensitivity stay as they are.
