Ferrum setup

Ferrum is a serial aim device: it is wired like a MAKCU and configured in the same place. Two cables, a COM port, a baud rate.

What you need

  • A Ferrum device
  • Two USB cables: one to the game PC, one to the second PC
  • Your mouse, which plugs into the device

01What it does

Ferrum carries the aim of the second PC into the game PC as real mouse input. Your mouse plugs into it, it plugs into the game PC, and the game sees one ordinary USB mouse whose movements happen to be yours plus the corrections.

Like the other devices on this page, it exists so that nothing has to run on the machine you are keeping clean.

02Wiring

  • Your mouse -> the device.
  • The device -> the game PC: the mouse side.
  • The device -> the second PC: the command side.

Both USB cables are needed. One of them alone gives you either a passthrough that takes no orders, or a COM port that moves nothing.

03In the menu

On the second PC, open Settings > Device and pick Serial as the device type - Ferrum speaks over a serial port, like a MAKCU or a KMBox B.

  • Serial port - Auto lets the loader find it. Rescan ports picks up a device plugged in after the loader started.
  • Baud rate - try 4000000 first, then 115200. The status line says which one opened.

Press Connect, then turn on auto-connect so the link comes back on its own at the next launch.

04When it does not connect

  • No COM port in Device Manager: the USB serial driver is missing on the second PC.
  • The port is held by another program - serial ports are exclusive.
  • The wrong baud rate: switch to the other one and press Connect again.
  • A charge-only cable on the second-PC side.

Connected but nothing moves in game: the game PC has to be using the device as its mouse, which means your mouse goes into the device, not into the PC.

06Questions

Is Ferrum configured like a MAKCU?
Yes: both are serial devices, so the Device settings, the port picker and the baud rate are the same. Only the hardware differs.
Which baud rate should I use?
Try 4000000 first and fall back to 115200. The status line reports the rate the port actually opened at.
Do I need two cables?
Yes, one to the game PC (the mouse side) and one to the second PC (the command side).
Does the game need any setting changed?
No. It receives USB mouse input, so raw input and your sensitivity stay as they are.
